Well, I guess I should have started one of these a while ago. But here goes, I am about to purchase a new short block from somewhere:

Livernois  298ci stroker shortblock is 4999.99

Aluminator (FRPP cobra motor) from Honolulu Ford WITH HPM discount 4300.00 + 900.00 Shipping ?!?!?!?!?

Modular Performance - awaiting price quote, but he said block wouldn't be done till the 3rd of April

So I will see what happens... more to follow

i thought honolulu ford was giving us 10% and no shipping. so let me check my math
4500 x 90% = 4050 + no shipping = 4050.  what's up w/ hon ford?

but keep us posted on the build and short block situation.
are you going to use your stock heads and cam?

what's the shipping from Livernois?

My thoughts exactly about honolulu ford..... and Livernois hasn't replied to my email yet.

For now I plan on just changing out the short block and the supercharger pulley. After Maui is a whole different story

Livernois told me $1400-$1800 for shipping. I hope they do better for you.
Hon Ford shipping should be free if its a regular shipment, only charge for rush.(talk to Brian the parts manager)
Cheapest shipping and most bang for the buck by far was Modualr Performance. Did you talk to John?

I called him this morning and he is going to get a quote for me. I hope it's better than the others.

Even if Honlulu Ford does not charge shipping because it was regular shipped, there is still the 4.715% GET to pay and on $4300 it is just over $202. So the total is $4502.

I think right now, Honlulu Ford has got to back off from certain discounts so their losses won't be so large. Can't be helped. Ever wondered just how slow they must be right now?

That stuff all aside, the Livernois package is easily over $6k by the time landed if the shipping price they told BB was such.

The question then becomes 4.6L versus the 4.9L stroker...I like the stroker for the greater torque capability. Too bad the bores weren't stock 3.80" diameter bores with a 0.060" overbore capability/

Why stop there.  They make a 6.0L kit already!  Grin
