anybody know what will remove nailpolish from an interior door without discoloring the area.  water and simple-green no work

its on both the hard plastic by the window switches and softer area above the door handle as well.

and before 'crb' says anything, its the passenger door...fugger!

is acetone to strong?  could you just use the acetone then quickly wipe it off?

Plain alcohol will leave a whitish mark on the vinyl,
so if you use any of the above, you risk that kind
of permanent "stain".

Nail polish eventually gets brittle
and you can scrape it off other surfaces (like, say,
nails... Wink) but it might be different here since it may
have "reacted" w/the plastic, not to mention the
chemicals you tried.

What about trying to "freeze" it off? Hold an ice
cube to it and then see if it can be peeled or
scraped w/ your nails.

Personally I would never admit online to wearing nail polish, you're a brave soul!  Wait, I meant so say I've never worn nail polish, whew!  You weren't doing the nails while driving I hope (thus the cause of the spillage, as your eye lash curler was in the other hand and you were steering with your knees??).  You drive 5-6 speed or auto?   Huh
