Need to swap over the old rim that was curbed to the
new replacement.  Anybody know who is the best place
to take it to?  The new rim cost me an arm and a leg and
I do not want some flunky part-time crackhead messing
up the new one.

Navy hobby shop does good work and has all new equipment. Plus you will not beat the price.

Depending on the rim, Revolution does rebuild on some rims for about 1/2 price of a new one.  Not sure if it has to be one of theirs, though.   They do well on the local Pot Holes vs bling-bling wheels war.

Thanks for the recommendations.  Next time for me no chromed alloys.  If you curb
them not only do you have to refinish, but no one in Hawaii re-chromes them.  For
the price of refinishing and re-chroming, you can buy a new wheel.  Which is what I
did.

you are right about the rechroming of rims.  It is the hardest rechroming for a shop to do, especially if they think they can do it correctly, without flaws, if not removing the inner section from the outside rim.  If they say they can rechrome without separating the rim, ask for a written guarrantee with no prepayment or deposit.
