for those of you that went and have a comment or suggestion, you can post it here and i'll send it to Steve.  or i'm sure Don will relay it too.
I hope we can help them out somehow next year.  i'm sure it will only get bigger and better.

Aloha Fellow Car Guys & Gals,

On behalf of the Aloha Mustang & Shelby Club of Hawaii, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your support of this year’s 2011 Oahu Car Clubs Toys for Tots Show and Shine. It was a beautiful day to have our event. We had turn out, about 320 cars represented by 14 car clubs and some independents.

At this year’s event our clubs donated a total of 1,286 new toys and we collected $864.00 in cash donations. This just goes to prove that we all have generous members that care about giving back to those less fortunate. I’m sure that each child will be happy to have something for Christmas. It is an honor to be associated with you all. Please remember that giving and being of service should be done all year long.

I look forward to doing this event next year. I would like you to comment on what you liked about this year’s event and suggestions on how we can improve the event for next year. Please email me with your comments. Thank you.

May you all be blessed with good fortune and good health this holiday season.

Mahalo Nui Loa,

Thanks to those who showed up... I was expecting more than 8 or 9 of us to show up for the kiddies though!  Seems like last year at Kbay we had at least 20 Stangs.  Couid be the economy, and the price of gas though I suppose.  Or, maybe you all have just been naughty this year and are afraid Santa will be skimpy on performance parts this year?

Update from Steve is that the Marines only did estimated count on the boxes.  Toy count donation probably closer to 1,800.  Looks like he will be get the same location for next year.  With some sponsor donations, maybe some tents and portapotties.  Also, checking to see of some of the food trucks that hang out on Ohe Street during the week can drop in on a Sunday.   All the leaseholder of the lot asks is that is be picked up clean after the event.  A bunch of AMSCH guys hung around to do that.  Everything was pretty well picked up.  No slobs.  No complaints.  With more advance notice and planning, it could be way bigger next year.

My passing thought: how come you can get twice as many cars to hang out and show off for hours at some of the cruise nights than came to support a great charity.  Next year gotta be a sdupper showing.

 Cool

 Cool

I've been struggling with that question for quite some time.  Seems the time of day is a factor.  I've always wondered why someone would wanna sit in a parking lot all night versus cruising around the island with friends and family in their hot rod...   go figure.

having some porta-potties would be great.
some lunch wagons too.  but you guys know that already.
maybe some entertainment, live music.  how about some RC car racing?
I would like to help with the setup and break down next time.
i'm sure next year with more time to prepare it will be way better.
