Ok, I've heard it is nearly impossible to get a sticker with any modified car. I had installed the Aeromotive fuel system on my car, with a sumped tank. Can someone PM me with some help on this once my car gets here? Thanks...

If that's all you did, I don't think they'll notice. I wouldn't worry about it.

there is a bit more done than that. Just figured that would be an instant fail. Plus when they pop the hood there are the bright red rails with a bunch of braided fuel line.

It realy depends on where you take it. That being said, they have been craking down the last couple of years and finding a place to "hook you up" is getting hard to find. Also if some one knows of a place they are less likely to say for the same reasons. It would probably be best to just get recon and be done with it then you don't have to worry about getting pulled over and being hasseled.

I'm on the verge of not even registering my car in Hawaii....Just keep TX plates on it. I wonder how long I could get away with that.

How long depends if you plan on driving it on public streets or parking it on private property.

There are plenty of highly modified car on the road there, from what I hear recon is not to bad. You can keep out of state plates (not sure of the exact rules) but you have to put a big ass sticker on your bumper.

Well I'll just have to wait till my car gets here. Then I'll worry about it then. I'll just make a plate to put that sticker on like i've seen on many other cars. Also I guess the sticker has to be on a lower level and not on a window.....where it would be easier to remove.

i thought the military has an exception that will allow you to keep your OOS plates?

Only if you put that big ass sticker on. It's like 6"x6". I don't think you can mount it on something like you do with the safety stickers.

you can keep the texas plates untill they expire. if theres a way you can maintain the TX registration from here...it might be ok. i couldnt do Colorado plates since they require a yearly emission test. and doesnt TX do some sort of yearly safety check?

hawaii registration for military is only $20, i see no reason to not get hawaii plates. even if you have TX plates you still have to get a safety inspection.

In the few states I've been stationed at, I didn't have to maintain a tx inspection. If I drove it home, I had 7 days to get a new sticker. My TX inspection has been expired for like two years now. Like I said, I'll just wait until the car is here and worry then. I'm going to need an alignment though, since shes lowered and has c/c plates. Oh, Anyone have an extra set of spaces that go between the strut and hub, where the two bolts go? The person that put the springs on the car (before I get it) must have kept them off for some odd reason.
