Hi all,
I just moved to the islands (oahu) and I have T-tops that leak  Cry  I am looking for a reputable shop I can take my 85 mustang to have the replacement weather stripping kit installed. I was going to do it my self, figuring there was not much to it but remove, clean, glue and replace. However, after reading up on it a bit and finding out that to do it properly drilling, window adjustments, and multiple types of glues and what not were required to do it properly… (Plus I tried to do it and it didn't work out too wel) I decided I’d rather have someone else do it, so this way it’s done right. No leaks and proper fit…

At the risk of sounding rude, I am very picky when it comes to my car and desire a shop that I don’t have to worry about quality of work, but on the same token is not going to over charge me.
Please let me know if someone has any recommendations, it’s greatly appreciated and thanks in advance

welcome wish i had a t-top!

i would try VRS in waipahu (its close to PM&E, http://pmehawaii.com/ )

PM&E might do it...but they are usually more a mechanic shop. chad(owner) is on this forum if he wants to correct me.

Talk to Noah @ Freds  top shop. If they can't do it I'm sure they can lead you in the right direction.
On another note, welcome to the forums! Post an intro along with some pics of the ride in the potentail members section.

Appreciate the referral but like you said, we're more of a mechanic/machine shop.

Could try Ed E. (check product/service review section) - practically a Fox specialist since he and Jeff have almost the whole spectrum of Fox body styles from early 4-eye to aero between them.

try and call Ace Auto Glass - I am talking w/them about doing the weather stripping on my 95 vette w/hard top, just waiting for the parts to come in  - I recommend the main one on Dillingham - they work on alot of high end cars

dont want to threadjack, but i will NEVER go back to Ace auto (was the dilingham one) they broke my speaker and tried to cover it up, didn't install the window right (took it to safelite to get it lined up correctly) and they left the broken glass in my door! screw that shop...

Talked to Noah today.....little too expensive for me at the moment....200 to 250 per side and no guarantee about water leakage and wind noise.....think I am going to dedicate this weekend and see how bad my weather striping skills really are, gotta stop the leaking...wish me luck...post pics this weekend Smiley

Just to be fair though.... I have done a little more research and it seems that most of the kits available are not up to standards shall we say. And no matter how much adjusting the windows is done, the leaks may not stop...so I can understand the hesitation to not guarentee.
