I have an 01 gt and I've noticed that my left rear tire is being shredded everytime I go over a bump and it's ripping at my tires and it makes a sqeeking sounds on that side. I pretty sure I just need some new springs but I can't find a place in Oahu to buy and get the problem fixed. Does anyone know where I can go for this problem?

Is the tire hitting the inside of the fender lip? If it is, maybe you should roll your fenders.

Well I could do that but if it was the fender that was the problem the other side would be having the same problem. It something else. It makes a constant sqeeking sound when I drive and I know it's the suspension on my left side. I just need to find a place that sales some springs. Do you know of any places in Oahu? Or any store that sales after market parts?

do you have your isolators in?  how old are you shocks?  usually if your tires are shredding its because you are contacting your fender, as mentioned above.  and its not entirely true that both sides would be doing it.  one side could have more excursion than the other.

I don't know. I was going to buy new urethane isolaters. As for the shocks their probably a good 6 years old. That's probably the problem.

Or maybe that side needs to be lubed up again. That would probably clear up the sqeeking

Do you have the stock wheel and tires on or aftermarket?

Most times from the factory your rear housing is not totally squared to the chassis. It does have some tolerance, meaning the rearend housing might be off to one side. My car was closer to the fender by about 1/4" to the passenger side.

I have aftermarket rims and tires. I put those on about a year ago.

use a tape measure to see if it is sitting even, could explain why only one side is rubbing. Measure from the ground to the fender lip.

rim size is 10 wide and i found the reason for the sqeeking. its my shocks that are rubbing against the cover. i warped the cover a little to see if it would stop the sqeeking. it did a little but still is annoying. i believe its lowered about 2" in. but i have a question. can i buy stock shocks and still keep the same height?
