Found this on our "Nextdoor" forum.

"Calling all car enthusiast please attend neighborhood board meeting April 27 At Kapolei high school @8:30 to show your support for a motor sports facility we need your support thank you."

This is at 8:30AM to register, meeting starts at 9:00AM.
Not much more info, comments show it may be an interesting meeting.

The discussion is who wants the track.  One group has been trying for years to have a privately owned and operated track at the former feed lot.  DHHL has that land and has a long lease with Pasha that does not want to leave.  The second, current effort going through the legislature more successfully, wants a State/County/private partnership like the tracks on  Kauai, Maui and Hilo, similar to soccer parks, tennis courts, ball fields, etc.  They have a parcel designated for recreational use that was not on the books for years  at  Barbers Point.  Private group has been bad mothing the current efforts dispite their failure for many years to get a privately owned and operated venture that would decide who uses and operates the track.  Might be a fiesty meeting.
