Helmet and closed toe shoes. Also bring sunscreen, maybe a hat, and lots and lots of water. I also wouldn't advise just sitting around. The reason we make newbs come early and run last is to expose them to as much help as possible. Watch how everything runs... ask as many question as you can without confusing yourself... walk the track as many times as you can (once chance in the am, one chance in the pm)... listen to both driver's meetings and try to watch the other workers as you'll be out there during heat 3 so you know exactly what to do. Other than that... you should be fine.
thanks Rick, I'm a noob so I look forward to absorbing all I can and helping where I can as well.

Finally got a perfect day! Four qualified runs with no DNF, all progressively quicker that the last. Pounded the car hard enough to rip my sub from it's screws!

Since I've been sick since Thursday, I was hoping and praying the car would save me... it did the best she could, but I still lost to the Camaro. I did get my best OA finish to date with 31st, but I know oif at least 1 top ten driver who wasn't there, so if he showed, I woulda been 32nd.
I dunno, mang... Davin is really getting good. I thought I could catch him with some more focused driving and more attention to my car prep... but, man... I was .8 seconds slower than him last race... this race he walked me by 1.2... a few tenths, I can find... over a second? That's not happening. I'm starting to wonder if I already have reached the limits for this car. We'll see... two more races left and if I want the championship, I need to win them both!
Either way... time to get some rest.

Next race is March 4th. A good, solid month off. After 4 events in 8 weeks, this is a good break. Hope to see you guys there... especially the ones who said they'd be there, but flaked. LOL This last race woulda been really good for a first timer as there were no other novices... lot's on one on one instruction available. Only two races left, then Run Offs!! Banquet is scheduled for June...

I was there and so was my buddy with the 5.0. I still had fun watching but not enough fun to just watch.
